Community Manager

Plato is a fast growing social games platform made by the creators of Yahoo! Games and backed by early investors of WhatsApp. We currently have over 40 million players who spend more than 1 billion minutes in our app every month (growing mainly through word of mouth).

We love going against the grain and charting our own path to success. As an example, we’re making a stand to reject the current advertising industrial complex:

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and empathetic and experienced community manager to join our team. You will make an impact by helping us better connect with our players across our support, social and in-app communication channels. You’ll also work with our engineering team and product leadership to address live product issues and be the voice for community requested improvements.

This role reports to our VP of Growth and Community and works closely with our player Community Leaders. Success is measured by your effectiveness at sharing with the rest of the Plato team the qualitative community-fed data you’ll be exposed to every day.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee our external support team and handle escalated inbound player support e-mails while maintaining a high level of empathy and impartiality
  • Maintain a living document of player feedback, including bugs, feature requests, and user experience issues
  • Respond to public reviews left on platforms such as the App Store and Google Play
  • Manage ongoing relationships with our player community leaders and report monthly on trends in the community
  • Manage key player communication channels (social media and in-app), creating content and engaging with the community-at-large

  • Have a genuine interest in Plato and games
  • Experience managing games communities: be able to show past community experience and discuss specific difficult situations you’ve overcome
  • Ability to always keep a level head when interacting with passionate players
  • Strong English writing skills and attention to detail
  • BS (or higher) in a communications-related field is preferred
  • Experience with photo-editing software and/or basic SQL is a plus
