Private Games, Direct Game Invites, & Game Controls
You may have noticed the option to create a Private Game in most games now. These games exist outside of a conversation, group, or room and give you the ability to share them freely with a deeplink and/or to invite anyone on your friends list to play.
We're in the process of greatly extending the cancellation timer for Private Games, too. This change will make Private Games ideal for being able to schedule a game in the future with a friend or group of friends.
On top of that, Direct Game Invites let you select specific players from your friends list and invite them to a game you created. This was always possible with 1v1 games, but games that required more than 2 players forced you to create a group first -- not anymore!
Next, Game Controls now exist for most games on Plato. The creator of a game can swap seats or kick players from their game. This new feature has a lot of uses, including making sure you're teamed up with the person you want to be or removing someone when they're AFK. We're in the process of making these controls less abusable in Rooms by restricting when these actions can be taken, stay tuned.
Finally, games you create now also respect your blocklist. If you don't want someone to be able to join your created game (excludes Ranked & Matchmaking), block them and they won't be able to join.
