  • Slythia is a golden serpent that radiates prosperity, drawing in fortune with each passing turn. Its shimmering scales glisten like coins, symbolizing wealth and power.
  • Its Gold Fortune ability requires 8 mana to attack for 20 HP and grants itself 2 charges of Prosper Status. This status provides Slythia with 1 extra mana at the start of each turn, ensuring its fortune never runs dry.
  • Slythia evolves into Serphina, an even more majestic serpent of abundance. Its Gold Fortune+ attack increases to 25 HP and grants 2 charges of Prosper Status to both itself and its ally, sharing its fortune.

  • Neblin evolves into Nebulos, a majestic double-headed celestial beast that radiates stellar energy. Its Singularity+ attacks for 20 HP, while placing Black Hole Status on the opponent for 2 turns.

  • Caplett is a relaxed capybara soaking in a hot onsen, radiating calm while splashing enemies with soothing, scalding water.

  • Caplett evolves into Captrio, a trio of capybaras sharing their restorative powers. With their combined strength, Captrio's Soothing Soak+ deals triple the damage and heals 5 HP to the player for 3 turns.

  • Slumbie evolves into the even drowsier Slumbro, whose massive snowballs make it a formidable opponent in any fight.

Introducing Match Monsters Draft Mode!

Draft pick is a new monster selection mode, which determines how players can choose 2 monsters each. Players will alternate in their monster selection in the form of a draft. A player is randomly chosen to start the selection.

  • Player 1 will pick one monster
    • Player 1 can choose any monster available to them
  • Player 2 will choose 2 monsters
    • Player 2 can choose any monster types different from the one chosen by Player 1
    • Ex: Player 1 chooses Fire, Player 2 can only choose Water, Earth, Psychic, or Electric
  • Player 1 will choose their final monster
    • Player 1 must choose a monster from the remaining types
    • Ex: Player 2 chooses a Water type and a Psychic type. Player can choose either Electric or Earth
  • Player 2 will start the match

  • Voltshard is a defensive monster. It is equipped with a high-tech Energy Shield that can absorb part of the incoming damage and reflect it back to the attacker. The Voltshard is not very agile, but it can withstand a lot of punishment.
  • shield_icon.webp Energy Shield: absorb 5 incoming damage per charge and reflect 5 damage per remaining charge.
  • Voltshard's Shellshock applies Energy Shield to the player, adding 1 charge of shield.
  • Voltshard evolves into Voltarmour to gain the ability to add 2 charges of shield whenever Energy Shield is applied.

It has been quite sometime since we did a comprehensive balance patch for our monsters. The approach we took this time was identifying our most underperforming monsters and buffing them only; the thinking being that as they win more games, the stronger monsters will level out.

A new monster appears - Cactkid!

  • Cactkid is a straight shooter, and always hits their mark, but you can't hit anything if you don't have any bullets.
  • Cactkid collects bullets from the board (max of 6), at max mana they expend their ammo dealing 5 damage per shot.
  • Cactkid evolves into Armathorn, dealing 10 damage per bullet with a max ammo of 4.

  • Elescent brings their finest flowers to the local apothecary Ozzy, who makes a potpourri to die for...
  • Elescent's Potent Potpourri attacks for 10 HP and has a status that changes depending on the last tile type matched:
    • RED: attacks for 5 damage
    • GREEN: heals for 5 HP
    • BLUE: converts 2 tiles on the board to purple
    • YELLOW: collects 3 tiles from the board
    • PURPLE: drains 1 mana from each opponent monster
  • Elescent evolves into Aromaphant who attacks for 15 and who's extra affects are doubled!

A new monster appears - Sipzap!

  • Sipzap can't fight on an empty stomach, but fill up their honey pot to unleash their true power!
  • Sipzap's Honey Ohm ability attacks for 5 HP and collects 2 random tiles - each value is doubled for every charge of honey, with a limit of 2 charges.
  • Sipzap evolves into Ranzap who has a limit of 3 charges!

A new monster appears - Petirex!

  • Wild Petirex rupture tiles for later consumption - but watch out! For every tile consumed Petirex takes a bite out of its opponent!
  • Petirex's Rupture ability attacks for 5 HP, and collects all ruptured tiles dealing 5 damage for each tile collected, then ruptures 4 more tiles on the board.
  • Petirex evolves into Rexsaur to attack for 10 HP and rupture 6 tiles.

  • Abyssoul is selfish and powerful, in the deeps you take what you can get, and only the strongest survive.
  • Abyssoul's Lure ability attacks for 15 HP, and collects 1 tiles from ally matches while gaining an additional +1 mana.
  • Abyssoul evolves into Voidevour to attack for 20 HP and collects 2 tiles, and gain +2 additional mana.

  • Tadapt is initially weak but can adapt to any situation!
  • Tadapt's Tail Slap only attacks for 10 HP, however it can evolve into 1 of 4 very strong monsters.
  • Tadapt can evolve into the following:
    • Phirapt: Attacks for 25 HP, and matches a random row and column
    • Vortapt: Attacks for 20 HP, and converts 4 tiles to water
    • Thornapt: Attacks for 15 HP, and heals for 25

  • Lilabaa is a comforting and cozy monster, she saps her opponent's mana after lulling them to sleep.

  • Lilabaa can evolve to Lulabaa to attack for 15 HP, and saps 2 mana every move instead of 1.

Frosset Lake:

  • The frozen effect is supposed to reward thinking ahead, however at times it posed more of a hindrance than originally desired.
  • Max tile types frozen at one time decreased from 3 to 2

Balancing:

  • In an effort to bring some monster effects to the forefront, their attack powers were decreased. This change was too heavy-handed, and thus some monsters are receiving an increase to their attack damage.
  • Winklit's Starblitz:
    • Attack damage increased from 5 to 10
  • Gleamur's Starblitz+:
    • Attack damage increased from 10 to 15
  • Birchee's Harvest:
    • Attack damage increased from 5 to 10

  • Gravetiery is a rare and otherworldly monster that punishes players who don't abide by its curse.
  • Its Soul Curse ability attacks for 10 HP, and for 2 turns every time its opponent uses a monster skill they will receive 10 damage.
  • Gravetiery can evolve to Necrogeist to attack for 15 HP, and its opponent will receive 15 damage for using a monster skill while cursed.

New stage: Forvir Swamp!

  • At the start of each turn a single tile is covered by a question mark tile
  • The question mark tile operates the same as whatever tile was covered up

  • Water tiles will be shuffled with non Water tiles at the start of a player's turn.
